If you are interested in archaeology and want to help protect Saddleworth’s Archaeological Heritage, support the Friends of Saddleworth Archaeological Trust. By becoming a member you will have access to wide ranging activities, both indoor and outdoor. Please refer to our Activities page on the web site.
- Seven winter lectures, by well-known speakers, covering a wide range of subjects.
- Newsletters and News Briefs
- Each November the Trust holds the Stonehouse Memorial Lecture, and we aim to have a nationally known speaker.
- To support National Archaeology Week, during the month of July, we arrange a 'One Day School' on a Sunday to cover some aspect of Saddleworth’s archaeological past.
- Summer outings are organised, depending on support. During 2008 we have received invitations to visit both York, with a guided tour around the archaeological remains and to visit the Lindow Man exhibition in the Manchester Museum.
- We meet in a warm comfortable room with access to a bar. Private car parking adjacent to room.
